Extreme Controuring

We were taught about 2 different ways of contouring; beauty contouring and extreme contouring. With Kat we learnt about both and how they should not be done, for example the extreme beauty contouring where the face becomes completely unrecognisable and the model looks like a completely different person is the wrong. It is not only not very practical (you would need to reapply the makeup often and this is not practical for the fashion industry) but would be bad on the models skin as so much makeup is involved. An example of extreme beauty contouring is below.

With Sue we learnt about the correct way to beauty contour, learning about how to apply the shade in the correct place; for a shade go 1-2 shades darker, feel with the finger for the bone and dot the shade in the chosen places then blend and take down. For highlighting go 1-2 shades lighter, and make sure to not put light reflecting things on blemishes.

In Kats lesson we then learnt about extreme contouring and after a brief demonstration we tried it out on ourselves.
