Contemporary Elizabethan Makeup

The further my knowledge on contemporary Elizabethan makeup I took to pinterest to look at some different looks.

I first looked at Elizabeth makeup in general, I looked at the different aspects that made it ‘elizabethan’. The main things were pale complexion, blocked out eyebrows and red lips as seen in the image below of a young Queen Elizabeth I.

To make some of the looks ‘contemporary’ they had more modern aspects to it, for example instead of having all of the face white, just having part of the face pale, or having the pale face but with heavily drawn on browns and a pale lip. Some examples of contemporary Elizabethan makeup designs I found are below.
