When I first looked at this image I immediately thought it
had an Elizabethan feel to it, the sitter, Lily Cole’s red hair embodies Elizabethan
styles. In the image her makeup is done with a pale complexion, red cheeks,
blocked eyebrows and a metallic looking lip. Hair played a very important part
in Elizabethan looks and also does in this image, as it is so large and
textured. The cheeks really stand out because of the pale skin which highlights
Elizabethan styles.
